Autodesk maya 2018 fatal error attempting to save free download."Attempting to save in AppData/Local/Temp/user" when launching Maya
I tried every version of Maya since until the LT and every version showed me the same fatal error about attempting to save in the temp directory. I watched some videos on Youtube and read some posts here in the forum and even when I tried to fix this error reading the answers It was still showing me the same error.
Go to Solution. Solved by Kalit. When you get the fatal error does it prompt you with an error report to fill out and submit to Autodesk? If so, please fill it out and let me know what the CER report number is! Also, is your ti on our certified driver version If not, please uninstall your current GPU driver and install version Sean Heasley Technical Support Specialist. Ive been searching days now for a solution and tryed out so many things, resetting my PC, installing many different graphics drives, installing Maya etc And even at my school I have the same exact issue even tho its a completely different graphics card. Even when I open older scenes where I have been worked on for Months, I get this Fatal Error now which is weird bcs it used to work perfectly and I didnt Installed anything which could cause this error.
Thanks for posting your CER report number! I looked it up in our log and it doesn't seem to be related to a specific known issue. You said this is happening on two scene files, if you make a new empty scene with a basic cube and then duplicate does the same crash occur?

I've noticed that this problem also doesn't occur on other school computers, only on my personal computer and my school computer even tho the same graphics card is being used. Strangely enough this Problem occurs randomly, sometimes it crashes when duplicating a object once and sometimes when duplicating it multiple times. Sometimes it even crashes when snapping to another object.
I opened it up in First I'd want to clarify, are you on the right driver like what I mentioned in my first post above? Also, a quick test you can try is exporting everything in the scene as an fbx and then import it into a new blank scene. From there try to duplicate and see if the crash occurs. Its just so strange it only happens on two of my workspaces like I have a disease and infected 2 of my PCs. And this problem occured just out of nowhere while Ive worked on my Scene on Sunday.
And now I stuck with it. Also I am the only one at the academy who has this problem, so no one could really help me with it and I sadly ran out of options. If its working fine on your school computers but not your personal machine there may be an issue with your pc itself. While you reinstalled Windows, have there been any recent updates or changes to your machine that may be causing this you could roll back? It does not work on my school computer and my personal PC, it only works on computers from my colleagues even tho we have the same hardware.
Ive reinstalled windows after this problem, thinking it may fix it. And Ive only reinstalled windows on my school computer not my personal one. Also this problem occured out of nowhere while working on my scene, I didnt installed or updated anything by that time. And Ive installed a windows update also after this problem thinking it may fix it. Also thinking about the error message, why it even tries to save something in the temp folder in the first place? Ah my mistake for some reason I thought this was happening when were using duplicate special which allows for an option input connections to be enabled.
This is happening when you just perform a regular duplicate? I've passed you file along to our QA team so they can test and try and see what exactly is causing the issue. Also Ive installed now maya again after uninstalling it once on my personal PC and somehow it dont crash anymore for some reason.
I dont know if it also works on my school PC bcs I reinstalled maya there once, will not be using it till Monday, but will keep you updated as soon as I am able to test it out there also.

Thats the problem, I completely ran out of ideas how this problem may can be solved. Here is a approximately list what Ive tryed so far: 1. Reinstalled Windows. Uninstalling and Installing Maya 3. Tryed it out on Maya and 4. Export and import as. Delete history all by type 7. Removing unused nodes 8. Removing half of my scene 9. Removing prefs folder and let Maya create new one Renaming Mesh Ungroup everything Its just so strange it only happens on two of my workspaces like I have a disease and infected 2 of my PCs.

What do you exactly mean by dont have input connections enabled? If you mean in the attribute editor, just tryed it out and it didnt worked.
